Vanchi is a coastal city of Kunj state. It lies on the eastern coast of the mainland of Yugae planet. Beyond the eastern border of Vanchi city is a vast Idrapath ocean wherein lie the many island states of the planet. Southern border of Vanchi is a narrow Vibha sea that separates the northern and southern mainland. Beyond the city limits is just barren land of Saarfi where nothing grows.

Majority of the city’s central area extending even beyond the western border of the city is the Ragva plateau region, named after a mythical being called Raghvan Kai. Stories suggest that a demon king Raghvan used to do physical training here which resulted in flattening of the hilly terrain into a plateau. Northern area of Vanchi is covered in a hilly range. From these hills originate five big rivers that flow through Vanchi’s northern part. In the mostly barren land of Vanchi, the river basin area is slightly fertile which is why there were small settlements here prior to the city being formed. All the rivers flow south down hill but then turn east returning the water to the ocean. Places where the rivers meet the ocean are marshy green lands that the city reclaims to build factories. Central and southern part of Vanchi don’t have rivers; rather, there are many lake formations caused by rain water accumulation in craters that are assumed to have formed in early stages of the planet’s development.

Vegetation is distributed sparsely across the city’s landscape due to less fertile soil and salty water bodies. There are slightly more trees in the north than south. Also resulting in more wildlife in the north.

Speaking of urbanisation, there is more dense infrastructure on the coastal regions of the city and it starts to become more and more spacious as we move inland. That’s because settlement in Vanchi city begins at the coast and moves in at a steady pace over almost one millennia before 2025. Vanchi city is strategically divided into subdivisions called Nagars. In the year 2025, there are in total 19 nagars.
